Coral reefs are an important part of the marine environment. They cover only a small part of the ocean floor, but they are the most diverse marine ecosystem there is, and they brim with life.
This time-lapse video shows a variety of coral types, displaying their natural minuscule movements and rich colours and patterns.
In September, researchers in Australia and Australia showed that a species of reef fish can see colours that humans can’t, or see them in very different ways. So these corals might be even more vibrant to the marine world than we can imagine.
