Many of us wake up to a coffee or tea in the morning. But is this little ritual a good or bad thing for our collective health? Could caffeine in our drinks and food be doing us any harm?

In the fourth season of ‘Debunks’, the new podcast series from the Cosmos newsroom team and Nine Podcasts, science journalist Petra Stock explores the science behind our vices – those questionable habits that we enjoy, even if they may not be all that good for you. In this episode, she dives into a cup of coffee to find out if caffeinated brews might be doing more harm to our health than good.

Joined by Dr Crystal Yates and Kitty Pham, as well as the fantastic baristas at Heartattack and Vine in Melbourne, they grind down myths about coffee, tea and caffeine in general.

Debunks is a science podcast that asks questions that you actually want answered. Each week a journalist in the Cosmos newsroom expertly guides listeners through the science topics of the day, from EVs and bushfires to Ozempic and vaping. Plus we unpack all the misinformation that comes with it.
