A curious female chimpanzee took a whack at a drone flying above her enclosure last Friday, knocking the device out of the sky – but not before capturing some funny footage of the encounter, via NatGeo.
Tushi, the clever chimpanzee responsible for the drone’s take-down at the Royal Burgers’ Zoo in the Netherlands, used a large branch to swat at the aerial intruder. Once the drone crashed she and a few other chimpanzees rushed to check out the trespasser. But after plucking off a few propellers, Tushi and her mates lost interest.
The drone was being used to film the animals and their habitats for the national television program Burgers’ Zoo Natuurlijk.
