3D bioprinting could transform the way we think about organ transplants

Cosmos contributor and physicist Cathal O’Connell is part of a team that includes world class surgeons, biologists, biomedical engineers and 3D printing experts, figuring out ways of creating artificial replicas of human body parts

His work to build finer and finer bio-printers could revolutionise the way we think about organ replacement. Cathal’s team has won one funding competition on thinkable.org to support its work and now is in the running for a prize recognising bold young researchers who are taking the risks to ask the big questions of today.

It’s a peoples choice vote and you can click here to support Cathal and his extraordinary work.
