Maths notation got you stumped?

In mathematics, notation can be confusing: roots, exponents and logarithms all centre around the same idea, but each employs completely different notation.

Roots use position (such as a superscript digit), roots with a symbol and logarithms, with, well, the word “log”.

It doesn’t need to be this hard. So Grant Sanderson from 3Blue1Brown presents the triangle of power – a “lovely, symmetrical, utterly reasonable” way of describing these operations.
