Cosmos Weekly FAQ

Cosmos Weekly is our new online edition and will be published every Friday, packed with stories that go behind and beyond the news to delve deeper into the current issues in science. You can think of it as a mini magazine that will bridge the gap between the daily news stories on and your beloved quarterly Cosmos print magazine. You can subscribe to Cosmos Weekly here.

What is Cosmos Weekly?

It’s a new weekly science news e-publication. You’ll get access to weekly original, commissioned stories which are published every Friday. We’ll be commissioning science writers from Australia and around the world.

Why have you created Cosmos Weekly?

It sometimes feels like a quarterly doesn’t give us enough space to celebrate and be amazed by all the discovery, exploration and extraordinary achievement over the myriad subjects and disciplines grouped together as science.

What happens to other parts of Cosmos?

Please be assured that your subscription remains unchanged. You’ll still receive the print magazine and have access to its digital reproduction, and of course still be able to read new science daily on We will also still be sending out our automated daily emails from Monday to Friday with the latest stories as well as our free weekly digest of news stories “Seven days of Cosmos”.

How does it work?

The e-publication will be published every Friday. You’ll receive an email from the editors about each week’s issue, and you can log in and read them at your leisure.

How much does it cost?

It will be $0.99 a week. When we launch you can sign up for a four-week free trial. After the four weeks, you’ll be automatically charged for the following four weeks. If you’re not interested, simply opt out before your trial ends. If you’re already a magazine subscriber, your subscription to the magazine will continue unchanged.

Will existing magazine subscribers get an exclusive deal?

Active Cosmos Magazine print subscribers will receive Cosmos Weekly for free for one year from the date we launch Cosmos Weekly. Should your print subscription renewal date arrive before the one year trial period is up, and you wish to continue with Cosmos Weekly, you can add the product to your subscription for $0.99 per week. Should you choose to continue with your print subscription alone, then you don’t need to do anything.

Do I need a subscription to view content online?

No, we offer a range of free content on our website. You can also buy single issues of our magazine. However, to read exclusive magazine content, gain access to all our back issues or access Cosmos Weekly content you will need to subscribe.
