Trevor McDougall

Professor Trevor McDougall AC recently received the 2022 Prime Minister’s Prize for Science. His work has had a transformative impact on the study of oceanography and ocean thermodynamics, and in furthering our understanding of the role of the ocean in regulating the Earth’s climate. He is Scientia Professor of Ocean Physics and a past ARC Laureate Fellow in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, UNSW. He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy Science, a Fellow of the Royal Society of London, and is currently President of the International Association for the Physical Sciences of the Oceans.
