Tropical Storm Bill from the International Space Station

NASA astronaut Scott Kelly (@StationCDRKelly), currently on a one-year mission to the International Space Station, took this photograph of Tropical Storm Bill in the Gulf of Mexico as it approached the coast of Texas.

The storm made landfall in Texas and is moving slowly inland, bringing heavy rain and the risk of floods.

The storm came ashore shortly before noon on Tuesday 15 June along Matagorda Island with maximum sustained winds of 100 km/h before starting to weaken, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
