The first 21 days of a bee’s life in 60 seconds

Photographer Anand Varma created this timelapse of the metamorphosis of a bee from egg, to larvae to pupae to adult.

The work was part of a project for National Geographic. It revealed one of the threats to bees – a mite that attacks them in the first 21 days of life.
