The barbeled dragonfish is a dentist's delight.

This image shows a barbeled dragonfish (Grammatostomias dentatus), in which bone is stained red and cartilage, blue. Deep-sea fish such as this have a flexible connection between their first vertebra and the back of their head, which lets them open their mouth wide to eat large prey.

The special head joint was described in the journal PLOS ONE.
